EV Charging
EV Charger Installation in Yarrow Point, WA
A charger is the largest single load most houses here ever add. Whether yours needs a sub-panel or just a spare pair of slots is a maths question, and we answer it before quoting. Ask on (000) 000-0000.
Have us look at it — (000) 000-0000Chargers are continuous loads, so they are sized at 125 percent of their rating: a 48-amp unit wants a 60-amp breaker. On a peninsula of large houses with heat pumps, pools and sometimes a dock feed already on the panel, the spare capacity is often less than the service size suggests. We measure rather than assume.

What the job looks like
Work out the real load
We total the connected load and the actual demand, then say what is genuinely spare.
Agree the position
Where the unit hangs, how the cable reaches the car's port, and what the run has to cross.
Install and prove it
Circuit in, charger set to the right amperage, and watched through a full-rate charge before we leave.
Detail
What we watch for
- Load management as an option — sharing capacity is usually cheaper than a service upgrade, and works fine overnight
- Reach measured to the port — not to the nearest wall, so the lead is not stretched across the bay
- Outdoor installs done properly — weatherproof enclosures and correct conductor protection where the run leaves the building
- Permit filed — EV circuits are inspected work and we file as a matter of course
Questions
Asked often
Do I need to upgrade my service to add a charger?
Often not. Plenty of 200-amp services have room once the load is calculated honestly, and where they do not, a load-management device lets the charger share capacity with the heat pump instead of forcing an upgrade.
Can you put the charger outside?
Yes, and on a lot of properties here that is the sensible answer. It needs a weatherproof enclosure, the right protection where the run leaves the building, and a position that does not leave the lead across a path.
